
Evolve's yoga classes offer a unique opportunity to cultivate awareness and connection between your body and mind, as well as your Spirit.
Through stretching, toning, and relaxation of muscles, you'll not only improve your physical health, but also have the chance to create a supportive community. Small group classes (2-6 participants) encourage you to explore movement in a judgement-free zone, where you know everyones name.
Weather permitting, Evolve offers yoga sessions in local parks and in the garden at the home studio. A chance to breath fresh air, interact with the elements, while digging deep into refreshing breaths and movement.
A little Philosophy for the curious..
There are several basic components to the practice of yoga, in the way it is offered here. Principally, fusing breath and movement to find mental stillness. Traditionally, a yoga practice is created for 3 main reasons:
First, to be able to sit for long periods in meditation.
Second, as shared in the Yoga Sutras by Pantajali, to "yoke" or to bring together.
The word Yoga came from the Sanskrit root "Yuj."
This form of "uniting" can be understood in countless ways, but in Yogic scriptures - Yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with that of the Universal Consciousness.
A perfect harmony between mind and body, human and nature.
Third, overall enhancement of health (and the subsequent liberation and self-realization, of course).
All Evolve yoga sessions intend to create an opportunity for empowerment.
You can take all the components home with you, to practice on your own.
The breath, the movement, the stillness and silence are all essential components to us, here at Evolve.
There is a certain flow to be found within, that with practice and patience is available.
